LIFE GETS BUSY!


    Good morning!! 🌞 Thank you for stopping by my blog, you probably think I have stopped blogging, not really.  I just feel that sometimes my thoughts are not worthy of being posted or talked about.  I have been busy with work and trying to keep my house etc.  I work 💻 full-time in a school district as an Administative Assistant in the Special Education Department.  The job is one that keeps me busy most of the time.  I will tell you there are a lot of politics in this job and that is one thing I do not like about the job.  I just want to come to work and do my job, not worry about who you can interact with because they may know someone and get you in trouble.

    So besides working over the past few years, I have also dealt with the death of my father 👴.  I am grateful to have a sister and that we have grown closer instead of farther apart after our parent's death.  We make it a point to get together every month to do something, even if it is just to hang out at each others house.  We did take a trip to New York  in May to see Harry Potter  and the Cursed Child!  I love Harry Potter so I had to go!  I will do a separate post about that trip, a little light bulb 💡 just went off in my brain!

    I am also a grandmother!  I have a 4 year old granddaughter! 🧒  She does keep me busy when I visit.  I am the go to babysitter.  I love the time I get to spend with her because I am building a bond with her and she keeps me young at heart 💖.  

I am still reading books. 📚📚  I might try and share a few blogs with the different books I have read over the past few years.  I am late on posting reviews. I sometimes feel my reviews are too short to share.  I am not always one that will break a book apart and give views on the writing style etc. When a book keeps my interest I feel it was a good book.

This is a book that I received from Library Things (LT) Member Giveaways. It is an Advanced Copy and there were some typographical errors which I expected. I found the book quite informative and very useful. Review - Paper Towns by John Green

Have you ever heard of Paper Towns? I didn't know what to expect when I picked up this book by John Green. This book was recommended by an online friend from my website. I am glad I finally read it. I found the story very entertaining. The story made me think about my time in high school. Paper Towns is the story of teenagers and just them discovering things about themselves and their friends. How would you react if you just learned that your boyfriend and best girl friend were hooking up? Your friends knew but didn't bother to tell you? Would you just snap or would you do something like Margo Roth Spiegelman does in Paper Towns. Paper Towns follows Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman on an adventure and mystery. Q is the good kid and doesn't do anything wrong. Margo is the adventurous type. Two different personalities that were friends when the were young yet have grown apart like so many of us do over time. Review-Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown

I have to first start off by saying that I have never trusted anyone who was or is a politician. I have always said that politicians lie, cheat and steal from their so called friends. So now on that happy note I have to say that I am some what surprised at what I read in Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Mainly because of the way The White men swindled the Indians out of their land. As I read the book I would gasp at the things that I read. I hate to even think that I am possibly related to any of those white men. I do remember reading about the Trail of Tears, when I worked in the fourth grade. I just remember not really understanding why that happened. You are made to think that the Indians did some thing wrong and are savages. This is a book that everyone should take the time to read. There is so much more information in this book then in any American History book you will ever read. We owe those Indians a lot.
