About Me

My name is Monica and I am a mother to two young adults.  I wish I could say that I work with books all day long, I am a secretary that just loves to take some me time with a good book.  My reading tastes are ever changing.  Sometimes I am just in the mood to read a nice relaxing story that doesn't require me to think to much.  Other times I really want to feel apart of the story and feel for the characters.  I have read many different genres and if you ask me to choose my favorite I think I would have to say mystery.  I love a good mystery and trying to figure out who done it.

I remember the first book that piqued my interest in solving crimes and that would be A Stranger is Watching by Mary Higgins Clark.  To this day I remember that book and it gives me chills just to think about my reactions as a teenager reading that book.  Another book I remember reading was Are You There God it's me Margaret.  I remember my mother giving it to me because she felt it was a great book for a young girl growing up.  I remember sharing that book with my daughter.

I also love to listen to music when I read.  Sometimes the music can add to my senses about the book.  I listen to all sorts of music while reading, classical, rock, pop, country, foreign etc.  If the music starts to distract me then I will turn it off or turn it down.  I find that if I am in a room and people are talking I need the music to drown out the conversations.

My next favorite hobby is watching movies.  I am not one of those women that have to see all chick flicks (even though I feel that most movies are chick flicks).  I enjoy a movie that is sometimes just very easy to follow and I can just relax and either have a good laugh, cry or just loose a few moments from reality.  Every so often I need a movie that requires me to think, like Inception, Shutter Island etc.  I don't want my mind to turn to mush.

Well I guess that is all I can say about myself for now.  Comments are welcome and if you want to follow me than please do.

Monica
